Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr Joseph Conceicao. A member of the People's Action Party Old Guard, Joe served as MP for Katong for 16 years. He was one of our pioneer diplomats, who represented Singapore as Ambassador to Indonesia and Russia, besides being High Commissioner to Australia. He helped build the friendly ties we enjoy with these countries today.
Beyond his official duties, Joe was one of the finest members of the Eurasian community, actively giving back through The Eurasian Association, Singapore as the beloved ‘Uncle Joe’.
A warm, charismatic, and committed man, Joe leaves behind a distinguished legacy. My thoughts are with his wife and his family in this time of loss. – LHL
